Krewe de Pink in its continued effort to support the Tulane Cancer Center’s Breast Cancer Research Fund, partners with the Schoen Mansion and Delgado Community College Culinary and Pastry Arts program. Delgado will sponsor a live competition featuring the culinary school hospitality students sponsored by Callebaut Chocolate. Each student’s preparation will be judged on their chocolate inspired creations both sweet and savory and their table designs. 1st and 2nd scholarship prizes will be awarded. Guests will also receive a swag bag compliments of Delgado Community College.

Death by Chocolate - Not Breast Cancer, is produced by Krewe de Pink, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, dedicated to raising awareness and support for Tulane Cancer Center’s Breast Cancer Research Fund, in partnership with the Schoen Mansion and Delgado Community College. The event will honor the 2021 Six Sweet Survivors. You won’t want to miss this special summer event to be held July 10th 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. This year’s event will be in memory of Norma Jane Sabiston, a 2020 Sweet Survivor and is to be held at the iconic Schoen Mansion on world-famous Canal Street 3827 Canal St. Join us and experience the exquisite features of this city landmark including the unique architecture, fine furnishings, spectacular chandeliers and beautiful gardens. It is an elegant setting for this fun, exciting and decadent event.
Guests will taste a dozen chocolate creations, both sweet and savory, complimented by champagne, sparkling cider, or chocolate coffee courtesy of Community Coffee. Music performed by Delgado’s Music Department with Delgado’s Culinary and Pastry Arts Program students preparing the tasty delights. Chocolate, the centerpiece of the event, will be donated by Callebaut, one of the world’s finest chocolatiers.
Guests will judge the chocolate inspired creations and scholarship prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place in each category. As a thank you, guests will receive a goody bag of chocolates compliments of Delgado Community College and Callebaut.

What to Expect: Each guest will be greeted with a flute of champagne (save your glass for refills), sparkling cider or water. Guests will then move to each chocolate station accompanied by live music and served a sample of the students’ creations and vote for their favorite sweet and savory dishes.
